GDS integration for Independent Hotels

Unlock corporate demand. Without adding another system.

Best for: city hotels, boutique hotels, and medium-sized independent properties that want stronger Monday to Thursday performance without adding another distribution tool.

What is GDS in hospitality?

A Global Distribution System (GDS) is a network used by corporate travel managers, travel management companies (TMCs), and travel agencies to search and book hotel inventory globally. It is a key channel for negotiated corporate rates and weekday business travel demand.

GDS is still where a large share of corporate travel is booked, especially for weekday stays.

With SabeeApp’s GDS integration, independent and boutique hotels can reach corporate travel managers and travel agencies through the major global GDS networks, while keeping distribution and operations unified inside one platform.

gds_enterprice

Why this matters for boutique and independent hotels

OTAs can fill demand, but corporate travel often behaves differently: it is planned, midweek-heavy, and frequently booked through agency and corporate travel workflows.

GDS helps you:

  • Strengthen weekday occupancy (Mon–Thu)
  • Access corporate and agency demand
  • Support negotiated rate programs
  • Reduce reliance on last-minute discounting to fill gaps

Without GDS connectivity, hotels risk being invisible to corporate travel buyers from companies such as Morgan Stanley, Gedeon Richter, and IBM.

See which global companies you can reach through GDS

Many large enterprise companies book accommodation exclusively through Global Distribution Systems (GDS), including major consulting and professional services firms such as Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, Accenture, and McKinsey & Company; global technology companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, IBM, and Oracle; pharmaceutical and healthcare leaders including Pfizer, Novartis, Roche, Johnson & Johnson, and AstraZeneca; major financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley; as well as industrial and engineering corporations like Siemens.

Multi-Room bookings

Offer real-time availability across multiple properties (if needed), with multiple room types and rate plans available to choose from.

Upselling Opportunity

Promote additional services, room upgrades, rate plans and special packages when relevant. Gain control and get creative with your offering!

Secure Payments

With SabeeApp's payment gateway, you'll smoothly and securely manage multiple payment options and receive payouts in real time.

Competing with chains without enterprise complexity

Large hotel groups have traditionally dominated corporate travel due to their distribution infrastructure.

With SabeeApp’s GDS integration, independent hotels can access similar networks while keeping:

  • One PMS
  • One Channel Manager
  • One reporting environment

You gain reach without increasing technical overhead.

GDS_integration_Reconline

Removing the need for third-party channel managers

Historically, many hotels kept a separate third-party channel manager mainly because GDS access required it.

With SabeeApp, that barrier is removed.

SabeeApp’s built-in Channel Manager now supports GDS distribution, so hotels can run:

  • Direct bookings (Booking Engine)
  • OTAs
  • Corporate and agency demand (GDS)

…without operating a fragmented stack of systems.

Result: fewer contracts, fewer integrations, fewer places where errors happen, and a more unified workflow for front office and revenue decisions.

Which GDS networks are covered?

SabeeApp’s GDS integration provides access to the leading global GDS networks: Amadeus, Sabre, and Travelport (Galileo and Worldspan).

Built for hotels that want distribution and operations in one place

SabeeApp is designed to keep teams focused on hospitality, not manual admin. That’s why the platform combines distribution with daily operations, including:

  • Cloud PMS
  • Built-in Channel Manager
  • Booking Engine
  • Payment platform
  • Online check-in
  • Housekeeping app
  • ID scanning and compliance support

GDS expands your reach without expanding your toolset.

“GDS connectivity has long represented a structural limitation in the independent hotel tech landscape. In practice, it often meant running parallel systems to access corporate distribution. By integrating GDS within our Channel Manager framework, we enable hotels to manage corporate, OTA, and direct distribution inside one connected environment.”

All-in-One vs Fragmented Setup

A structural difference in how your hotel operates

Many independent hotels historically used a layered tech stack to access GDS:

Fragmented Setup SabeeApp All-in-One Setup
PMS + external Channel Manager PMS + built-in Channel Manager
Separate GDS distribution contract GDS supported within SabeeApp ecosystem
Multiple interfaces to monitor One connected system
Parallel reporting and reconciliation Centralised reporting
Higher risk of availability mismatch Unified rate & availability flow
Multiple subscription costs Reduced system overlap
Annual Commitment Monthly subscription basis

Part of a bigger product roadmap

The GDS launch is one part of SabeeApp’s broader roadmap focused on building a more connected, practical platform for independent hotels. Alongside distribution, SabeeApp is investing in automation and AI-powered operational support, including the upcoming AI Front Desk Agent.

Because hospitality should be about people, not paperwork or manual administration.

How GDS Integration Works in Practice

Once SabeeApp is connected to Reconline, corporate travel distribution becomes part of your normal daily workflow.

Step 1: Your Rates Are Distributed to GDS

SabeeApp sends your configured rates and availability to Reconline, which distributes them to major Global Distribution Systems used by corporate travel agencies and travel management companies worldwide.

Step 2: A Corporate Guest Books Through GDS

A business traveler or travel agency books your hotel through a GDS platform. The reservation is confirmed within the corporate travel network before being transmitted to SabeeApp.

Step 3: The Reservation Appears in SabeeApp

The confirmed GDS booking is automatically imported into your SabeeApp PMS. It appears in your reservation calendar like any other channel booking and immediately updates availability.

Step 4: Your Team Manages It Normally

Front desk staff handle the booking inside SabeeApp as usual. Check-in, invoicing, payments, and guest communication follow your standard PMS workflow without additional systems.

Step 5: Inventory Stays Synchronised

Any changes to availability in SabeeApp automatically update across connected distribution channels, including GDS, helping prevent overbookings and ensuring rate consistency.

SabeeApp GDS Integration – FAQ

What is the SabeeApp Reconline connection?

The SabeeApp Reconline connection links your PMS to major Global Distribution Systems used by corporate travel agencies worldwide. It allows your hotel to distribute availability to GDS networks and receive corporate bookings directly inside SabeeApp without manual entry or separate systems.

Which GDS networks are supported?

Through Reconline, hotels gain access to major GDS networks such as Amadeus, Sabre, and Travelport. Participation depends on your commercial agreements and property setup. These networks are primarily used by travel management companies and corporate travel buyers.

What data synchronises between SabeeApp and Reconline?

Once connected, SabeeApp synchronises:

• Availability
• Rates
• Minimum stay restrictions

Reservations made through GDS networks are automatically imported into your SabeeApp calendar, updating inventory in real time.

Do I need a separate contract to connect to GDS?

Yes. GDS participation typically requires commercial agreements and rate configuration within Reconline. SabeeApp manages the technical connection, while corporate pricing and contractual elements are handled through Reconline and the respective GDS channels.

Where will GDS reservations appear?

All confirmed GDS bookings appear directly in your SabeeApp reservation calendar. They function like any other channel reservation and follow your standard front desk workflow, eliminating the need for manual re-entry.

Does GDS replace the Channel Manager?

No. GDS complements the SabeeApp Channel Manager. The Channel Manager distributes inventory to OTAs and online travel platforms, while GDS focuses on corporate travel and agency bookings. Together, they create a more diversified distribution strategy.

How long does activation take?

Activation time depends on contract setup, rate configuration, and extranet confirmation. Once both SabeeApp and Reconline configurations are completed, synchronisation is activated and bookings begin flowing into your PMS automatically.

Is GDS integration suitable for all hotels?

GDS integration is most beneficial for city hotels, airport properties, conference hotels, and business-oriented accommodations targeting corporate travelers. It may be less relevant for seasonal leisure-only properties without business travel demand.

Can I control which rates are sent to GDS?

Yes. You control rate plans and availability inside SabeeApp. Only configured and mapped rates are transmitted to Reconline for GDS distribution. This allows you to maintain a separate corporate pricing strategy while keeping OTA, direct booking, and GDS rates aligned with your overall revenue management approach.

What happens if I modify or cancel a GDS booking?

Any confirmed GDS reservation is managed directly inside SabeeApp. Modifications or cancellations update your availability automatically. Synchronisation ensures that inventory reflects the latest status, reducing the risk of overbookings and keeping your distribution channels consistent.
