Local Requirements
đź’° Rounding Rules for Invoices & Payments
To help you stay compliant with local regulations on small-denomination coin usage (such as 1–2 HUF in Hungary or 1–2 euro cents in Lithuania), SabeeApp now supports customisable rounding rules. This ensures your invoice totals and recorded payments align with legal standards—while keeping your financial records consistent and accurate.
🔧 Creating Rounding Rules
You can define rounding rules from the Settings → Custom Currency menu, by clicking on Add rounding rule
⚠️ Make sure any rounding rule you create complies with your local laws and tax regulations.
Each rule includes the following fields:
- Currency – e.g., HUF, EUR
- Payment Method – Choose the applicable method (cash, card, bank transfer, etc.)
- Rounding Method – Define how invoice totals should be rounded. Available options:
- To the nearest .00 or .05 (e.g., 1,234.56 → 1,234.55)
- To the nearest .00 or .50 (e.g., 1,234.56 → 1,235.00)
- To the nearest 0.00 or 5.00 (e.g., 1,234.56 → 1,235.00)
- To the nearest 00.00 or 50.00 (e.g., 1,234.56 → 1,250.00)
- Invoice Note – Optional text (supports multiple languages) shown on invoices when a rounding item is added.
⚙️ When Are Rounding Rules Applied?
Rounding happens automatically when invoices or payments match an active rule.
🧾 Invoicing
When you create an invoice:
- If the selected currency and payment method match a rounding rule:
- A system-generated line item (e.g., Rounding - HUF) appears to adjust the total
- This item is VAT-free and affects only the gross total
- The invoice will display the original, unrounded amount in the note section
- The rounding is also reflected in the folio as a system-generated Correction item
đź’ł Payment Recording
When recording a payment (from the booking page or invoice editor):
- The system suggests a rounded amount if the payment matches a rule
- If a user edits the amount manually, SabeeApp will validate and reapply the rounding
- Currency exchange rates are respected, and rounding is applied after conversion, if needed
🇱🇹 Built-In Rule for Lithuania
SabeeApp includes a predefined rounding rule for Lithuania, automatically active as of the legal enforcement date.
You can review and modify this rule like any other from your settings.
