🛎️ Modifying Reservations
You can modify reservations in SabeeApp, but whether those changes are automatically sent to Booking.com depends on the reservation’s status — mainly whether the guest has already checked in.
🔄 When Changes Sync to Booking.com
-
🕒 Before Check-In (Future Reservations)
If the reservation is in the future and the guest hasn’t checked in yet, any date or price change you make in SabeeApp will not sync to Booking.com.
➜ You’ll need to make those updates directly in your Booking.com extranet.
-
🏨 After Check-In (Current or Past Reservations)
If the guest has already checked in (either today or earlier), changes you make in SabeeApp — such as shortening or extending the stay — will sync automatically to Booking.com, including both new dates and updated prices.
According to Booking.com’s API rules, these changes are accepted only if:
- ✅ The guest has already checked in.
- ✅ The reservation status allows modifications.
- ✅ The reservation is not overbooked.
- 🚫 The property does not use Booking.com’s payment processing (e.g. Payments by Booking.com or Online Payments).
- 🔁 The check-out date hasn’t been changed more than once in a 24-hour period (00:00–23:59 CE(S)T).
- Stay length must be at least 1 night
- For non-refundable reservations, the new price must not be lower than the original price
✂️ Shortened Stays After Check-In
- If a guest has already checked in and the stay is shortened or extended, SabeeApp will sync both the new check-out date and the updated price automatically with Booking.com.
📅 Same-Day Check-In Modifications
-
If the check-in date is today, the price will automatically adjust to match the new stay length.
💡 Example:
A 2-night booking at €100 per night is shortened to 1 night after check-in.
The total price updates to €100, and this change is automatically sent to Booking.com.
⏰ Modifications with a Past Check-In Date
-
If the check-in date is in the past, a pop-up will ask whether to keep the original price or apply the new price.
The selected option will then be synced to Booking.com.
💰 Standalone Price Changes
-
Editing the booked price without changing the dates will not sync to Booking.com.
Price updates are only transmitted when date changes are also involved.
🧩 Handling Split Reservations
When a reservation is split, synchronization with Booking.com follows the same rules and conditions as any other modification — but with some additional limitations.
1️⃣ Splitting a Reservation
- During the split process, no information is synced with Booking.com — regardless of whether the reservation is in the future or the guest has already checked in.
2️⃣ Changes to Split-Off Parts
- When you split a booking, SabeeApp creates a group reservation made up of two linked individual reservations.
- The channel ID is automatically assigned to the second (split) reservation.
- However, Booking.com does not recognise this setup as a group reservation.
As a result:
- 🔁 Any update from Booking.com to the original reservation will overwrite the original, and
- ❌ Automatically mark the other part(s) as cancelled.
⚠️ Because of this, date and price modifications for split reservations should be made with caution.
3️⃣ Changes to the Original Part After the Split
-
If the original booking is checked-in and the booking status allows update, modifying the original part will mean:
- 📅 Date changes will sync to Booking.com.
- 💰 Price updates (automatic recalculation or confirmed via pop-up) will also sync.
-
If the original booking is in the future, modifications in SabeeApp will NOT sync to Booking.com.
➜ You’ll need to make those updates directly in the Booking.com extranet instead.
⚠️ Tip: Always consider the impact before splitting a reservation.
Once split, Booking.com updates to the original reservation may overwrite one part and cancel the other.
👤 Guest Leaves Earlier than Planned
- Shorten the reservation in SabeeApp — this will sync automatically with Booking.com (if the guest has already checked in) and reduce your commission.
➕ Guest Extends Their Stay
- Create a new reservation in SabeeApp without entering a channel ID.
- Group it with the original booking for administrative purposes.
- Updates from Booking.com to the original reservation will not affect the manually created one without a channel ID.
- In case you want everything synced to Booking.com — modify the original reservation's date.
